There are many application methods for hair extensions. Pre bonded, Micro rings, wefts…. the list goes on and on. But what is the best method? What should you choose?
Well here is a little explanation….
Micro rings are fast becoming an extremely popular application method. This method uses small beads or rings, to attach the extensions to your own hair! The extensions have a tip called an I-Tip which is shaped like a shoe-lace tip and is threaded into the micro ring. The ring is then clamped shut with the closing tool. Celebrities such as Britney Spears have been seen wearing this kind of hair extensions.
Wefts are strips of hair sewn together by machine or hand-tied. There are various ways of applying them. They can be glued or sewn/weaved in. One thing to bear in mind is Weaves can feel quite tight especially at first and can be quite uncomfortable. You cannot usually wear your hair up. Naomi Cambell has been spotted using weaves and has also been spotted with traction baldness from this method
Finally there is pre bonded extensions. These are individual bonds usually made up of keratin that is applied using either a cold fusion or hot fusion machine. The bonds come in different shapes. Extension Professional also offer a unique C shaped bond but I would say that the V shaped bond is the most widely used and can be applied using either of the above methods. Extension professional offer these great V shape bonds at their online shop and are defiantly one of the least damaging and cost effective methods. At the online shop you can also purchase any other accessories needed for pre bonded application and if you sign up for a trade account you can receive a trade discount. Cant get better than that! Ellie Goulding has worn this type of Extensions applied by Extension Professional founder Louise Bailey.
